sad thing is I remember everyone having these stupid bowl cuts when I was a kid haha :D

Not quite a bowl cut, but I had my pigtails chopped off age 10 - with shears, I think! Never recovered from the trauma - and still hate having my hair cut! Now it's long again. so wear it up in a clip! Funny thing is - the bowl suits Zach! I think his hair grows that way , looking at his kid pics! And I just love that 'V'at the nape of his neck! ;oD

The only traumatic haircut I've ever had I did to myself when I was about 3 years old. My mom still laughs about. Somehow I got a hold of a pair of scissors and decided to give my self a hair cut. Evidently I grabbed a chunk of my hair and cut it off very close to the scalp. My mom says it was the funniest thing because during the day I was walking around and being very careful to only show her one side of my head. She took me to a stylist right away but the only thing the stylist could do was give me a short pixie cut due to the scalping I had performed on one side. I've never had hair longer than shoulder length since then. I think that early experience is also why I don't stress about my hair. I've never freaked out after a hair cut. Still can't understand why other women will cry after a haircut. It's always been a mystery to me why something that will grow back eventually is something to be worried about.

ye he really does carry it off well. think possibly because he hassuch strong features it balances out perfectly :D

yikes! Aimers81 when I was young I had gorgeous long blonde wavy hair and when I went to the hairdressers with my foster parents they insisted they cut it off. It was so short I looked like my brother! I hated it and couldn`t stop crying all the way home and would always cover my head out of shame! Now I rarely go to the hairdressers and if I do I only have the bare minimum cut off :D

That's terrible yet kind of funny at the same time. I remember the person that had the biggest problem with my pixie cut was my maternal grandmother. She was devastated that I no longer had long hair. I'm always changing my hair. I'd dye it green if I thought I could get away with it. I have hair as dark as ZQ's and one time did blond highlights. Good old mom said I looked liked a zebra, she's always so supportive. LOL!

lol the most colourful I`ve gone is purple it was meant to be a vivid purple shade but it ended up looking more like a blue rinse lol thank goodness it was temporary colouring. I`d love to go Electric Blue but I doubt my hair could handle it. :D

I got some chewing gum stuck in my younger sister's hair once! Chopped it out with scissors whilst she screamed blue murder! Can't remember what my punishment was - it was usually the 'cold shoulder' in our family! My sister had an interesting 'comb-over' for a while!

I've thought of doing blue in my hair. It's hard to do because it would have to be in the bottom layers of hair so that when I have my hair down you can't see the blue but if you tie it up you can. The other thing with my hair and coloring it is my hair is so dark that you can't just put color in because it won't overcome my dark color. Anytime I change color, my hair has to be bleached out and then the color added. I had my haired died like the darkest blue black color there is once and no one noticed the difference. Dark hair is so annoying.

ah that`s terrible! lol I bet she didn`t speak to you for ages :D

Wow Diana! I grew up with 2 sisters but we never sabotaged each others hair. My youngest sister got gum in her hair once because she went to bed chewing gum and must have spit it out in her sleep and then rolled in it. Oh the memories! Our mom cut it out of her hair.

aww that`s a pity it sounds like it would have been really nice.

I sabotaged my own hair when I was small- my mother insisted on putting it in curlers and winding it up in old baby-diapers to make it look like a baby doll.

I hated it. I cut off my ear-curls, and was just about to lop off my tail when my mother caught me. She was so angry- I kept the tail, and she stopped dolling me up except for class photo days.

I've always gone for extremely simple in my hairstyles. I've never had any bleach or color in it (well, except for the time when the 'temporary' punk colors would not come out and my commander ordered me to get it fixed!). It's already a pretty extraordinary color, so why mess with it?

Oh, and I don't understand why they call Spock's hairstyle a 'bowl' cut. It's actually just short, straight bangs- a true bowl cut would have the neck shaved to where the bangs are. His style is more a 'wedge' cut, which leaves the hair on the back of the head in place, and tapering to the neckline.
